Well done! Writing chapter one suddenly seems very daunting.
This reads kind of like a blaze/desire. Am i right?

Kiru it can be anything you want. Don't forget its your character's fantasy. So if she really is from 18century and just been transported to today she might want to go back. Or vice versa. Vampires can have a fantasy too. My character is older, and doesn't think she has any fantasy to fulfil... is she right or is she wrong? This is a group of friends, some know everyone some only a few. Not all friends know everything about each other... so would you know if your friend was a witch?
MICHELLE HOPE THIS IS OK ADVICE

Oooohhhhhhhh. Now i get it. So i can pick any character in the group of friends and write about her fantasy trip on the island. That's really cool.

Anybody can write about anything as long as it is legal. That gives us all such scope. I think we are going to get some great suprises here. And as I'm going to do the final end chapter/ summing up wow am I going to have a great- albeit difficult time. ( and i'm about 1/4 way through my own chapter. whew!!

Prologue is great, ell done Michelle. I am going to go with uptight workaholic who is glued to her blackberry/laptop and has no time at all for fun- until she finds herself in a regency themed suite complete with her own Mr Darcy, will that be ok?!? I have a weekend full of child's 7th bday so it may not get started till next week hope that's ok x

these all sound great. We all seem to be going for different types of people as well.I'm enjoying writing my chapter so much more than i did my entry for the new voices comp. I wonder if it is because we are all doing this for 'fun'

I love the ideas you are all coming up with :-) Ideally we would like to have all the chapters up by the end of October so Joanne can write the final one from everything she's seen :-) I can't wait to see what this finished novella is like.

Well, my character is going to be a prim and proper school teacher, who doesn't know how to have fun, but will be swept off her feet and ends up surprising herself at what she discovers! ;D

As you'll have guessed 'Destin E' and Anya have a little history that I'm looking forward to exploring...

Michelle, my character seems to be your characters mother!!! Is that OK? She is or was a bit of a lass!

Joanne I have no probs with it being implicit or explicit just go with your plan - as long as she doesn't hit on my hero :-)

Hmm, now that I started writing it, my character's fantasy has changed already. Arabian nights anyone? ;D
This is fun!

see Doris, I said it would be fun!! And no Michelle, my character will not hit on your hero I promise. I seem to have found her one all for herself. Would dearly like someone else to have a heroine who's first language is not English though. Any takers? (only because I think I have put in a great paragraph- well I like it-, which implies some of the others don't have English as their mother tongue)

I can't wait to see what you've come up with Joanne and Arabian Nights seems like a great fantasy too Doris :-)
I'm working on Anya's story today, so here goes nothing!

Wow! This is great Joanne and very clever how you brought in her fantasy man... I want to see more of what happens between them. Will Anya end up with a new stepfather?

Why not write the full story in the one chapter and when you get to the summing up if there's even more comes to mind then you can add it then ? That's kind of what I'm doing with Anya, her whole story in one chapter - if it works anyway.

Same here, whole story in one chapter, ending with her meeting back up with her friends. One thing though, mine is going to be pure fantasy, which will change her outlook on everyday life but no chance of ongoing romance iyswim. Is that ok?

Thank you . I can now expand on my paragraph, in the next half. And as long as she's enjoying it , no need for it to be 'a forever' And it IS Fantasy Island after all. Anychance I can have her name?
